Good Morning Smoothie

Dr. Mark Hyman was one of my teachers at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Here is his new smoothie recipe which I’ve been trying out for breakfast this week and it’s yummy, full of protein and nutrients and will definitely keep you energized all morning long!

Whole Food Protein Shake

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 4 walnuts
  • 3 Brazil nuts
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup water

1. Combine all of the ingredients in an electric blender.

2. Blend on high speed until smooth (about 2 minutes). If the shake is too thick, add more water until you reach a thick but drinkable consistency. Serve chilled.
